The city of Sharjah offers fabulous attractions to enjoy your holiday. The Sharjah Arts Museum is the largest of its kind in the United Arab Emirates. This state-of-the-art facility opened in 1997 and features a permanent collection as well as temporary art exhibits for local artists.

The Sharjah Heritage Area is a combination of several museums that include Sharjah Heritage Museum, Souq Al Arsah, Bait Al Naboodah, Al Midfaa House, Al Hisn Sharjah and Hisn Kalba.

Al Qasba is the most important tourist attraction of the city. The Al Qasba has lots of entertainment facilities that make it an unparalleled entertainment spot. Al Qasba Development Authority offers high-class and modern entertainment, cultural and leisure attractions, which are based on the values of the Arabian tradition.

A visit to Sharjah is incomplete without riding on the "Eye of the Emirates". It is a giant wheel that offers an aerial view of Sharjah corniche, lagoons and landscape as well as the horizons of the neighbouring Dubai. This attraction has 42 air-conditioned cabins that go 60 meters high over Sharjah. It is capable of carrying 336 passengers at a time.

In Sharjah, many Souqs are situated on and behind the famous Corniche Road. Watch a variety of shops at the Blue Souq, Souq Al Arsah, Iranian Bazaar and Al Majarrah Souk. The tour of the Souq offers a great chance to study the ethnic culture of an Arabian market.
The Planetarium was originally part of the Arab Maritime Transport Academy. It is located in Al Majaz near Sharjah Bridge and about 3 km away from the city centre. It mostly attracts government schools and science clubs for the study of astronomy and celestial navigation. Permission of Department of Culture and Information is required for group visits.
