Day 1: Arrival in Luxor
Welcome to the land of the Pharaohs! Upon arriving in Luxor, you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to your hotel in a modern, private van. Take some time to relax and unwind before enjoying a complimentary dinner and settling in for the night.
Day 2: Exploring Luxor's West Bank
Start your day off with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a tour of the west bank of Luxor. Visit the Valley of the Kings, where many of ancient Egypt's kings were buried in ornately decorated tombs. See the tombs of Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, TutankhaAmon, Ramssess VI, Mrenptah, and Amonhotep II.
Next, stop at the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman to ascend the throne of ancient Egypt. After, marvel at the quartz colossi of Memnon and the remains of King Amenhotep III's mortuary temple.
After a tasty lunch at a local restaurant, continue your tour with a visit to the massive temples of Karnak, dedicated to the sun god Amun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. Finally, see the Temple of Luxor, built by King Amunhotep III and completed by King Ramesses II.
In the afternoon, transfer to your hotel in Aswan for dinner and a good night's sleep.
Day 3: A Trip to Abu Simbel
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, set off on a personalized tour of the iconic Abu Simbel Temples. Learn about the history of this site, including how it was discovered in 1813, and how it was saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser by an international effort led by UNESCO. Please note that guides are not allowed inside the Great Ramses II Temple or the smaller Temple of Hathor due to the high number of visitors.
Return to your hotel in Aswan for the evening.
Day 4: Aswan City Tour and Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before checking out and embarking on a tour of Aswan. See the impressive High Dam, an engineering marvel built in the 1960s. Admire the views of Lake Nasser and the Temple of Kalabsha from the top of the dam, and visit the nearby power station.
Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk in the granite quarries, where you can see the techniques used to create these ancient monuments. Finally, transfer to Luxor International Airport for your flight back home.
